Thursday Morning Bible Study

The weekly class meets Thursday mornings from 9:30-10:30 in the parlor or on the patio weather permitting. All are welcome and now is a great time to join as they’re beginning a new book, The First Advent in Palestine: Reversals, Resistance, and the Ongoing Complexity of Hope by Kelley Nikondeha. Books are available at the Oak Park Main Library, first floor on the reserve shelf for book groups. Click here for the syllabus.

Fair Oaks Artisan Market Update

The third Fair Oaks Artisan Market was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped support the market by volunteering to help, attending and shopping, buying raffle tickets, and helping to spread the word.  We are grateful to have raised approximately $5500 for our charities, and we loved how it brought our community together on a beautiful day.  Stay tuned!  We hope to have another market in two or three years!

Book Group

One of Fair Oaks’ many adult gathering opportunities is the Book Group, which generally meets at 7 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month during the program year. The group selects both fiction and non-fiction works that aspire to offer insights into our faith and meets in homes to allow for more relaxed fellowship. Fall Feast

Join your church friends for the annual Fall Feast on Sun., Nov. 17, from 5 pm-7 pm in Fellowship Hall. There will be fun activities for adults and kids of all ages plus it will be an opportunity to simply share fellowship. Each family is asked to bring a dish to serve eight. Because we have a number of members with nut allergies, please bring only nut-free side dishes and desserts to the Fall Feast. Cathy Dunn

Cathy Dunn has a diverse career as an organist/pianist, stage director, and singer. As a soprano in the chorus at Lyric Opera, she has appeared in nearly 2000 performances. She is the Resident Director for Petite Productions and also directs opera for Chicago Summer Opera. Cathy studied voice, piano, and organ at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, her hometown. She received a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University before continuing her studies in Germany. She has either…
